Sleepy catdog

Elvis is worn out from chasing The Nothing* round the house all day and is now having a full-on slob across the back of the sofa. I grabbed the nearest pen (a fine nibbed calligraphy marker) and did a couple of very quick sketches of him.

Number one. This is on the back of some paper I had been using to try and break in a new very scratchy nib, which is what all the funny shapes are.

Number two. He kept moving in his sleep.

Here's what he looks like right now. Bad webcam photo but just look how huge he is. I measured him and he's about 24 inches long. All the better for cuddling.

*The Nothing is Elvis' nemesis. He likes to chase it round the house at 3am.

Great job with the quick sketch Aveen ^^ And Elvis is simply adorable!
My quick sketch usually is 10 times worse and usually I can't really make out what I drew.

Your sketches are wonderful! Especially the non-moving one (of course).

That belly needs a tickle! Lovely sketches, really like the happy smile on the first one.

My two chase "the nothing" around the house at 10:30 pm every night. I wonder what would happen if I started doing it with them? If nothing else i guess it would be good exercise.

When I read "The Nothing" the first thing I thought of was the wolf from the Neverending Story.
Its a little freaky that he chases that around your HOUSE!

Elvis looks just like my Penny! Great sketches! I haven't tried sketching my cats yet, but I should - they sleep enough!

Thank you all for your lovely comments!

Stevie - he does always have a really stupid grin when he's asleep. Makes me wonder what he's dreaming about :)
